The Evolution of My Business Name
How Massage Is Life: Rooted In Healing came to be.
Did you know my business didn’t even start as Massage Is Life?
When I first began this journey, my business was called:
Serenity Massage & Bodywork by Angela.
Looking back now, I just laugh because… why Angela?
At the time, like most small business owners, I thought my name needed to be part of my brand. It felt personal, and it was safe. And honestly — it was a dumb, not-thought-out name in my opinion lol.
But I quickly realized that it didn’t fully reflect the work I was doing or the energy I was trying to create.
Then I Dropped the Name Completely… and Just Used My Own Name
For a little while, I simply operated as:
Angela Jessie, LMT.
But if you knew me back then, you’d notice something:
In every post, every caption, and every conversation — I was always saying one thing:
Massage Is Life.
It was natural. It was how I truly felt about the work.
Without even realizing it, I was already speaking my brand into existence before it ever officially existed.
The Lightbulb Moment: Massage Is Life
When it was time to officially file for my LLC, it hit me like a lightbulb:
Duh, Angela — Massage Is Life.
It wasn’t something I had to force. It was already there.
Because to me, massage therapy is not just a service. It’s not an occasional treat or a luxury. It’s a vital part of living fully, staying balanced, and giving the body what it needs to function at its best.
Why the Name Massage Is Life?
-
Life as a Journey of Wellness:
Massage is not a quick fix. It’s an ongoing journey of choosing healing, self-care, and growth. -
Life-Giving Benefits:
Massage rejuvenates the body, restores the mind, and nurtures the spirit. It allows clients to relieve stress, reduce pain, and feel more vibrant and fully alive. -
Balance and Healing:
Life impacts us physically and emotionally. Massage Is Life reflects my commitment to creating a space where both can be addressed — safely, gently, and intentionally. -
Self-Care as Essential, Not Optional:
Massage isn’t something you do when you finally break down. It’s something you prioritize, like exercise, nutrition, or rest. Caring for your body is part of caring for your life. -
At its core, Massage Is Life embodies the belief that healing happens in the moments of relaxation, release, and restoration. It’s life in the simple act of caring for yourself.
And Now Comes The Next Chapter: Rooted In Healing
As my business continues to evolve, so does my work — and so does my vision.
Massage Is Life has become my identity, but I’ve been called to take it even deeper. I’m stepping into a space that reflects the direction my work is growing into:
-
The clients I serve who carry stress, grief, trauma, overwhelm, and emotional weight.
-
The emotional layers that come with the work I do every single day.
-
The nervous system-focused care I am becoming more specialized in.
-
The healing journeys that not only my clients walk through — but that I continue to walk through personally.
-
The intentional space I continue to build, where care is about more than just muscles — it’s about the full person.
That’s where Rooted In Healing was born — and where Massage Is Life is now growing.
It gives my work new depth, while still honoring the foundation that started it all.
What Massage Is Life: Rooted In Healing Means Today (and Going Forward)
Massage Is Life: Rooted In Healing reflects the full mission I am building into:
-
To create safe, intentional space where clients feel fully cared for — physically, emotionally, and energetically.
-
To honor the nervous system as the true gateway to healing.
-
To support long-term wellness, not short-term fixes.
-
To hold space for grief, trauma, stress, and everyday life in a safe, grounded environment.
-
To offer care that respects both my clients and myself, so we can both thrive and sustain this work long-term.
This isn’t just a business name.
It’s a reflection of my journey, my growth, my purpose — and the type of care I am intentionally continuing to build.
🌿 Massage Is Life was always in me — and now I am fully growing into what it was always meant to become.
