Comfort & Recovery Care Mobile Services

Welcome

Comfort & Recovery  Care Mobile Services provides personalized, supportive therapeutic bodywork for individuals experiencing illness, recovery, or more complex care needs, including bedside and in-home services.

This service also includes care for individuals receiving palliative or hospice support, with a focus on comfort, dignity, relaxation, and overall quality of life during serious or advanced illness.

Sessions are thoughtfully adapted to each individual’s condition, energy level, and stage of care, and may include gentle, non-invasive, or modified techniques based on tolerance and need.

For those receiving end-of-life or hospice care, services are centered around presence, comfort, and support during this time. Scheduling and policies may be adjusted with compassion and flexibility based on individual circumstances.

Services are non-medical and do not replace hospice, nursing, or physician-directed care, but are designed to complement and support overall well-being.

Comfort & Recovery Care services are available for individuals of varying ages depending on condition, recovery needs, and level of care.

Eligibility is determined during the in-person consultation.

Mobile Services Update

Mobile services are currently being reintroduced alongside a new booking system. While everything has been tested, there may be minor adjustments as processes are refined.

As I transition back into offering mobile services, please note that scheduling may take some time to fully balance alongside my existing in-office appointments. Availability will continue to evolve as I assess demand of mobile services and create a consistent flow between both service types.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

Why This Service Exists

For many individuals experiencing illness, recovery, or more complex care needs, leaving home for wellness services is not practical or possible. Traditional spa or clinic environments may also feel overwhelming, inaccessible, or inappropriate depending on the situation.

Comfort Care Mobile Services exists to bring calm, respectful, and supportive therapeutic touch directly to the individual—whether they are recovering, managing a condition, or receiving palliative or end-of-life care.

Each session prioritizes comfort, safety, and dignity, meeting clients where they are and adapting to their unique needs and stage of care.

Mission & Focus

My goal is to provide compassionate, comfort-centered therapeutic support for individuals experiencing illness, recovery, or more complex care needs, including those receiving palliative or hospice care.

Sessions focus on:

  • Comfort, support, and recovery rather than correction

  • Gentle relaxation and nervous system support

  • Respect for medical conditions and physical limitations

  • Individualized pacing, positioning, and tolerance

  • Maintaining dignity, comfort, and overall quality of life

Every session is thoughtfully customized based on the individual’s condition, stage of care, comfort level, and needs.

Who This Service Supports

Comfort Care Mobile Services may be appropriate for individuals who:

  • Are experiencing illness, recovery, or more complex care needs

  • Are currently receiving palliative care

  • Are under hospice or end-of-life care

  • Have chronic, serious, or life-limiting conditions

  • Are primarily homebound or have difficulty accessing in-office care

  • Require gentle, supportive, or comfort-focused bodywork

Services may be provided in:

  • Private homes

  • Hospice or palliative care environments

  • Assisted living or senior living settings

  • Approved facility or supportive care environments

Who This Service Is Not For

To maintain the integrity of this specialized service, Comfort Care Mobile Services is not intended for:

  • General relaxation or standard massage services

  • Convenience-based in-home massage requests

  • Deep tissue, athletic, or performance-focused massage

  • Individuals who are able to access in-office massage services

  • Caregiver or personal wellness massage

For traditional massage services, please visit Massage is Life to book an in-office appointment.

Comfort & Recovery Care services are not intended for individuals who are able to independently navigate daily activities with minimal support (such as those who may use a cane/crutches but are otherwise mobile).

These services are designed for individuals who require a more supportive, adapted approach due to illness, recovery, or more complex care needs, including those who are homebound, have limited mobility, or require bedside care.

About Me

I’m a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist with a background in human services and trauma-informed care. I have years of experience supporting individuals with varying needs, including those navigating illness, recovery, and major life transitions.

My approach is grounded in patience, adaptability, and respect for each individual’s experience. Every session is personalized, with a focus on comfort, safety, and meeting clients where they are.

This work is also deeply personal to me and has shaped the way I approach care, with an emphasis on creating calm, respectful, and supportive environments for individuals at different stages of care.

All services are provided within the scope of licensed massage therapy and remain non-medical in nature.

How the Process Works

Because every situation is unique, all clients begin with a required consultation.

Step 1: Required In-Person Consultation

During this visit we will:

  • Review health considerations within massage therapy scope

  • Discuss comfort levels and positioning needs

  • Assess the environment for safe service delivery

  • Determine appropriate session length and pacing

  • Confirm that services are appropriate for the individual

Hands-on services are not provided during this appointment.

Step 2: Personalized Comfort & Recovery Care Plan

Following consultation:

  • Services are adapted to energy level and medical considerations

  • Session pacing remains gentle and flexible

  • Positioning and environment are prioritized for comfort

Booking access is provided after consultation approval.

Step 3: Scheduling & Availability

Because I also operate an in-office massage practice, mobile services are scheduled based on what best fits overall availability, while maintaining as much consistency as possible between in-office and mobile care.

Appointment access is provided after consultation and approval.

Services are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited availability.

Service Area & Travel are available within a 20-mile radius of the primary service location.

Comfort Care Mobile Services are available within a 20-mile radius of the primary service location.

Appointments outside of this service area may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional travel fees and availability will be discussed during the consultation.

Client Policies & Expectations

To maintain safety and professionalism, the following policies apply to all mobile services.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Mobile appointments require reserved travel time and preparation.

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule an appointment.

  • All sessions are prepaid. Late reschedule requests (less than 24 hours) will result in the session being forfeited.

  • Rescheduled appointments must occur within 30 days of the original appointment date.

  • Rescheduling must be done by directly contacting me. Appointments cannot be rescheduled online.

End-of-Life / Hospice Care Consideration:

  • For individuals receiving hospice or end-of-life care, I understand that circumstances can change quickly.

  • Rescheduling and cancellation policies may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis with compassion and flexibility.

No-Show Policy

If a client is unavailable, not present, or the service cannot proceed upon arrival, it will be considered a no-show and the prepaid session will be forfeited in full.

Client Late Arrival

  • Mobile appointments are scheduled within specific time blocks to allow for travel and preparation.

  • Clients are expected to be ready at the scheduled appointment time.

  • A brief grace period may be provided; however, sessions will still end at the originally scheduled time to maintain scheduling consistency.

  • For shorter sessions, including 20-minute services, late arrival may significantly reduce or eliminate hands-on time.

  • The full session fee applies regardless of start time.

Illness Policy

  • If the client or anyone in the household is experiencing a contagious illness (fever, flu, COVID, stomach virus, etc.), the appointment must be rescheduled.

  • Health and safety are prioritized for all clients and households served.

  • Please notify as soon as possible if illness arises and keep the late cancellation policy in mind when rescheduling.

  • If illness is present at the time of arrival, the session will be canceled and the appointment will be considered completed. All payments remain non-refundable.

Environment & Winter Readiness Policy

For services to be provided safely, the environment must be prepared prior to arrival.

The following are required:

  • A clean, clutter-free space large enough for safe setup

  • A reasonably calm environment when possible

  • Pets secured away from the service area

  • Clear and safe access to the home

During winter months:

  • Walkways and driveways must be fully cleared of snow and ice

  • Pathways must be properly salted and safe for walking

If access to the home is unsafe upon arrival, the session may be canceled and subject to the forfeiture policy.

Comfort-Focused Positioning & Service Environment

Comfort Care Mobile Services are designed to meet individuals where they are physically and medically. A traditional massage table is not always appropriate — and often not necessary.

Services may be provided comfortably in:

  • Recliners or lift chairs

  • Medical or adjustable beds

  • Standard beds

  • Wheelchairs (when appropriate)

  • Supported seated positions

  • Other safe, comfortable resting positions

Positioning is always adapted based on comfort level, mobility, medical considerations, and overall well-being.

The goal is never to reposition someone unnecessarily, but to work within what is safest, most comfortable, and most supportive for the individual.

All positioning decisions are discussed during the consultation to ensure a safe and respectful experience.
