The Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services (This will be live on the booking site soon)

Welcome

The Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services provides personalized, supportive prenatal and postpartum therapeutic bodywork for mothers experiencing high-risk pregnancies, bed rest, or medically supported recovery after childbirth, including bedside and in-home services.

Sessions are thoughtfully adapted to each individual’s condition, stage of pregnancy or recovery, energy level, and medical considerations, and may include gentle, non-invasive, or modified techniques based on tolerance and need.

Services are non-medical and do not replace physician-directed care, but are designed to complement and support overall well-being during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Due to the specialized nature of this service, eligibility is determined during the required in-person consultation.

Mobile Services Update

Mobile services are currently being reintroduced alongside a new booking system. While everything has been tested, there may be minor adjustments as processes are refined.

As I transition back into offering mobile services, please note that scheduling may take time to fully balance alongside my existing in-office appointments. Availability will continue to evolve as I assess demand and create a consistent flow between both service types.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

Why This Service Exists

While many mothers are able to move freely during and after pregnancy, some are not.

For those experiencing high-risk pregnancies or medically supported recovery, leaving home for wellness services may not be practical or possible. Traditional spa or clinic environments may also feel overwhelming or inappropriate depending on the situation.

The Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services exists to bring calm, respectful, and supportive therapeutic touch directly to the mother—meeting her where she is during a critical time.

Each session prioritizes comfort, safety, and dignity while adapting to individual needs and medical considerations.

Mission & Focus

My goal is to provide compassionate, support-centered therapeutic care for mothers navigating high-risk pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Sessions focus on:

  • Comfort, support, and recovery rather than correction

  • Gentle relaxation and nervous system support

  • Respect for medical conditions and physical limitations

  • Individualized pacing, positioning, and tolerance

  • Maintaining dignity, comfort, and overall well-being

Every session is thoughtfully customized based on the individual’s condition, stage of pregnancy or recovery, comfort level, and needs.

  • Are experiencing high-risk pregnancies

  • Have limited mobility during pregnancy

  • Are recovering from childbirth with medical restrictions

  • Are recovering from C-section or more complex deliveries

  • Require in-home or bedside care

Services may be provided in:

  • Private homes

Who This Service Is Not For

To maintain the integrity of this specialized service, The Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services is not intended for:

  • Routine, low-risk pregnancies

  • Standard postpartum recovery without complications

  • Convenience-based in-home massage requests

  • Clients who are able to attend in-office services

  • General relaxation or standard massage services

For traditional prenatal or relaxation massage, please visit Massage Is Life to book an in-office appointment.

Important Medical Requirements

To ensure safety and proper care, the following are required:

📌 Written medical clearance is required for all clients (prenatal and postpartum) prior to receiving services

📌 It is recommended to obtain written medical clearance prior to the in-person consultation to help guide the assessment process

📌 Medical clearance should include any restrictions, precautions, and recommended positioning when applicable

📌 A required in-person consultation must be completed first to determine if services are appropriate and within scope of practice

📌 If services are to be provided in a hospital or medical facility, approval from the facility is required prior to scheduling

These steps are in place to ensure safety, proper care, and respect for medical guidance and individual needs.

About Me

I’m a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist with a background in human services and trauma-informed care.

I am also certified in prenatal and postpartum massage, allowing me to safely and thoughtfully support mothers during pregnancy and recovery.

I have years of experience supporting individuals with varying needs, including those requiring more attentive, adapted care, and bring that experience into every session.

My approach is grounded in patience, adaptability, and respect for each individual’s experience—especially during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

All services are provided within the scope of licensed massage therapy and remain non-medical in nature.

How the Process Works

Because every situation is unique, all clients begin with a required consultation.

Step 1: Required In-Person Consultation
During this visit we will:

  • Review health considerations within massage therapy scope

  • Discuss comfort levels and positioning needs

  • Assess the environment for safe service delivery

  • Determine appropriate session length and pacing

  • Confirm that services are appropriate for the individual

  • Hands-on services are not provided during this appointment.

Step 2: Personalized Care Plan
Following consultation:

  • Services are adapted to energy level and medical considerations

  • Session pacing remains gentle and flexible

  • Positioning and environment are prioritized for comfort

  • Written medical clearance must be on file

  • Booking access is provided after consultation approval

Step 3: Scheduling & Availability

  • Mobile services are scheduled based on overall availability alongside in-office services.

  • Appointments are offered on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.

Comfort-Focused Positioning & Service Environment

Services are designed to meet mothers where they are physically and medically. A traditional massage table is not always appropriate—and often not necessary.

Services may be provided comfortably in:

  • Medical or adjustable beds

  • Standard beds

  • Recliners or supported resting positions

  • Other safe, comfortable positions based on condition

Positioning is always adapted based on comfort level, mobility, and medical considerations.

Final Note

This isn’t for every mom—this is for the moms who truly need care brought to them.

The Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services operate on a private pay basis.

Prenatal Positioning & Comfort Options

Every mother’s body and condition is different, especially during high-risk pregnancy or postpartum recovery. Because of that, positioning is always tailored to what is safest and most comfortable for you.

Depending on your needs and medical considerations, sessions may include:

  • Pregnancy massage table with abdominal cutout for supported, face-down positioning when appropriate and cleared

  • Side-lying positioning, commonly used for comfort and safety during pregnancy

  • Bed-based or reclined positioning for those on modified or full bed rest

  • Supported positioning with pillows and bolstering to reduce strain and promote relaxation

There are many misconceptions about pregnancy massage tables. The use of a table with an abdominal cutout is not automatically unsafe, but it is also not appropriate for every pregnancy.

Positioning decisions are always based on:

  • Individual comfort

  • Stage of pregnancy

  • Medical history and current condition

  • Provider recommendations and any restrictions

For many high-risk or bed rest situations, side-lying or supported positioning may be the safest and most appropriate option.

Positioning is never forced and will always be adjusted based on your comfort level and medical needs.

All positioning options are discussed during your consultation to ensure a safe, supportive, and informed experience.

Client Policies & Expectations

To maintain safety and professionalism, the following policies apply to all Bed Rest Mama Mobile Services.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Mobile appointments require reserved travel time and preparation.

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule an appointment.

  • All sessions are prepaid. Late reschedule requests (less than 24 hours) will result in the session being forfeited.

  • Rescheduled appointments must occur within 30 days of the original appointment date.

  • Rescheduling must be done by directly contacting me. Appointments cannot be rescheduled online.

Medical Consideration

Due to the nature of this service, medical status can change quickly during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Rescheduling and cancellation considerations may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis with care and understanding when medically necessary.

No-Show Policy

If a client is unavailable, not present, or the service cannot proceed upon arrival, it will be considered a no-show and the prepaid session will be forfeited in full.

Client Late Arrival

  • Mobile appointments are scheduled within specific time blocks to allow for travel and preparation.

  • Clients are expected to be ready at the scheduled appointment time.

  • A brief grace period may be provided; however, sessions will still end at the originally scheduled time to maintain scheduling consistency.

  • For shorter sessions, including 20-minute services, late arrival may significantly reduce or eliminate hands-on time.

  • The full session fee applies regardless of start time.

Illness Policy

  • If the client or anyone in the household is experiencing a contagious illness (fever, flu, COVID, stomach virus, etc.), the appointment must be rescheduled.

  • Health and safety are prioritized for all clients and households served.

  • Please notify as soon as possible if illness arises and keep the late cancellation policy in mind when rescheduling.

  • If illness is present at the time of arrival, the session will be canceled and the appointment will be considered completed. All payments remain non-refundable.

Environment & Winter Readiness Policy

For services to be provided safely, the environment must be prepared prior to arrival.

The following are required:

  • A clean, clutter-free space large enough for safe setup

  • A reasonably calm environment when possible

  • Pets secured away from the service area

  • Clear and safe access to the home

  • During winter months:

  • Walkways and driveways must be fully cleared of snow and ice
